It’s hard to believe that we’re already saying goodbye to 2023. When there’s always another project waiting to be completed, there isn’t much time for reflection. Thankfully, the holiday season provides the much-needed respite to spend time away from our work and to reflect on just how much we’ve accomplished during the year. What an amazing year it’s been!
After a year of work, our mighty team of eight introduced our circularity platform to the world in April. That was a tremendously exciting time for us because we could finally start making a difference by helping brands adopt new, sustainable business models. We decided to start with peer-to-peer resale, but built our platform to allow us to expand into other models in the future (more on that soon).
The release of our Shopify app in May gave us the ability to greatly streamline the customer and brand experiences. Our app makes it possible to automatically synchronize product catalogs, manage customers, issue gift cards, and much, much more. As a result, we are able to on-board customers in as little as a week, and simplify the on-going maintenance of our customer’s circularity programs.
Within a short period of time after our launch, we signed on several customers, including Malaika New York and The Oaks Apparel Company. Most startups struggle to find their first customer, so we were thrilled to be able to find a few customers that were willing to go on this journey with us so quickly. We’re thankful for their support and their partnership, and we look forward to welcoming many more brands to our family in the coming year.
In June we launched our Advisory Board. Our inaugural class of advisors included Cynthia Power, Founder of Molte Volte, and Malaika Boysen Haaning, Founder and Creative Director of Malaika New York. It’s been an honor and a pleasure to collaborate with them, and we look forward to continuing to learn from them in 2024.
We also welcomed Julian Ong to our Board of Directors. Julian’s guidance has been instrumental in helping us chart the future of our company, and helping us to work through the many questions that arise when a company is growing.
Also worth mentioning, we launched a new corporate website and blog in December. Our new website features the growing capabilities of our circularity platform, and emphasizes our unique perspective on how to build relationships and accelerate adoption of circularity programs in the fashion industry. We are deeply grateful for the many successes we enjoyed in 2023, especially in light of the strife experienced around the world this year. We hope that 2024 brings peace and comfort to all those who are suffering, and that we find a way to bridge our differences and come together as a global community.
