Introducing Second Wave by Bowfish Kids

Second Wave by Bowfish Kids

This Earth Day we’re celebrating the launch of Second Wave, the official marketplace to shop and sell pre-loved Bowfish Kids clothing.

Founder, Caitlin Quirk, is committed to fostering sustainability in all aspects of her company. Every apparel brand Bowfish Kids carries must meet strict sustainability standards, which include the use of eco-friendly materials and sustainable packaging.

Second Wave is the latest step in the company’s mission to minimize waste and extend the lifecycle of every garment they sell. Their belief? High-quality clothes deserve more than one adventure.

Part of their impact:

All orders ship in 100% recycled boxes

Shopping bags are made from 100% recycled paper and printed with algae ink

All mailers and shipping labels are compostable

A community compost to help members of the community give back to the Earth

We’re incredibly proud of this next step. Second Wave not only helps reduce waste, but it brings our Bowfish community closer together—one preloved piece at a time. Happy Earth Day! - The Bowfish Kids Team

Customers who own children’s clothing from any of the sustainable brands sold at Bowfish Kids—whether purchased in-store or online—can list their outgrown items on Second Wave in less than 30 seconds. The platform was designed with community in mind, featuring:

Bowfish Kids was founded in 2013 in order to address a need for a children’s boutique in Ocean City, New Jersey. With a background in fashion design, a love for children’s clothes, and a heart for community connection, Caitlin named the store Bangles N’ Bows and opened the first storefront on the boardwalk. The company later rebranded as Bowfish Kids, moved into a larger space downtown, and launched an online store.
