After months of planning, developing, testing, and trialing, we’re thrilled to formally announce the launch of our resale marketplace, notnot.

The name comes from the proverb “waste not, want not”, and reflects our mission to keep returned and unsold clothes out of landfills. About 92 million tons of textile waste, including returned and unsold clothes, is sent to landfills each year. This happens because there isn’t another commercially-viable option for handling this problem. Sadly, most of these clothes are in great condition and should be kept in use, especially given all the time, energy, and resources that went into making them in the first place.

notnot is a better option for brands, shoppers, and the planet. By connecting shoppers who are looking for deals and sustainable shopping options with brands who are looking to give their products another chance to be discovered, we give returned and unsold clothes the best possible chance to find a home. Brands are willing to sell their clothes at a discount (some as high as 75%) because selling these clothes earns them far more than they would otherwise earn from liquidators.

Brands that use our resale platform to run their branded resale programs can opt into cross-listing their items in notnot with a flip of a switch. Brands without branded resale programs can set up their notnot stores in minutes (really). In both cases, we manage all of the day-to-day tasks on their behalf, including collecting payments, facilitating shipping, and supporting customers.

We’re proud to partner with Passion Lilie, Heart’s Desire, Sartoro, Kibra, League of Friends, Loop Apparel, Tabeeze, and other forward-thinking brands to give returned and unsold clothes a second chance to be discovered.
